Q: Do I need to make an appointment?
A: No. Just come in with your partner and look at our range of suits. You are more than welcome to try on different outfits until you find the right combination of style and colour. If you want to go ahead, we will make a note of your details and also those of the other members of the wedding party.
Q: When do the rest of the party come in for fitting?
A: Once the suits have been chosen the rest of the groomsmen can come in soon after. We prefer to fit no more than two or three people at a time as we may have other customers and may not be able to devote all our time to one large group. We like to have all fittings completed three months or so before the wedding although we know this is not always possible. Our opening times are 9 - 5.30 Monday to Saturday.
Q: One of my groomsmen works abroad and won't be here until the week of the wedding. Will this be a problem?
A: It shouldn't be a problem - this happens fairly frequently. Let us know when you book and we will tell you what information we need.
Q: What if someone gains/loses weight after being fitted?
A: After a fitting, if anyone in your party is concerned about a change of size, please let us know and we can tell you when to come in and be re-fitted. It is usually best for very young children to be fitted approximately four weeks before the wedding.
Q: When do we pay for the hire?
A: When booking, we request a non-refundable deposit of £100 per party. The balance may be paid, either in instalments or as a lump sum, up to a month before the collection date. Where people are paying for an outfit individually we would prefer that the money be given to the bride or groom who can co-ordinate the payments and then pay us all at once.
Q: When can we collect our suits?
A: For weekend weddings, outfits will normally be available after 1 p.m. on Thursday; this will allow ample time for them to be checked for completeness and fit. If you have different collection requirements, please make sure staff make a note of this. If you are unhappy about anything at all, please do not hesitate to let us know. We will do our utmost to rectify any problems but you will appreciate this will be difficult or even impossible if left too late.
Q: When do we need to return our suits?
A: Outfits MUST be returned, on the original hangers and in the suit bags, on the first working day after the wedding (preferably before 12 noon). Any other time is strictly by prior arrangement and you must ensure that staff make a note of this. If suits are not returned on time there will be an extra charge per suit per day. Don’t forget that your late return could ruin somebody else’s wedding. If you are going away on honeymoon you should arrange for someone to return the outfit on your behalf.
Q: What if we lose or damage something?
A: Outfits are hired to the customer on the understanding that they will be returned in an undamaged condition and the customer will be responsible for any loss or damage to the goods whilst on hire. Any loss or damage not notified to us before the wedding will be deemed to have been caused after collection from these premises. Returned suits are not inspected immediately therefore there may be a delay of up to one week to enable us to check for loss or damage. There is also a charge for losing hangers and suit bags.
Q: We are getting married at short notice. Can you help?
A: Yes. As we keep all our own stock we should be able to help - even just a few days before the wedding.
Q: We are getting married abroad. Can we still hire from you?
A: In most cases, yes, this is possible. There is a charge for extended hire but it depends on how many suits, what time of year and how long you will need to keep them for. In some cases it may be cheaper or more cost effective to purchase suits, which we will be only too happy to help with.
Q: I am going on a cruise. Can you help with suit hire?
A: Yes, we hire a cruise pack which consists of a black jacket, a cream jacket, black dress trousers, two dress shirts and two bows. The cost is £100.
Q: Can your tailor alter clothes purchased elsewhere?
A: Yes, we can alter or repair any of your own clothes.

We would point out that any outstanding amounts for loss or damage that remain unpaid will be passed to our debt collection agency, Sinclair Goldberg Price Ltd. These amounts will be subject to a surcharge of 15% plus VAT to cover our costs in recovery. These amounts will also be subject to any legal costs incurred in obtaining settlement.
